Michael Catt

CHURCH: Michael Catt has been senior pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church (SherwoodBaptist.net) since 1989. The church has 3,000 members and reaches across five counties and 29 communities, with members from all races and eleven nations.

Sherwood’s three campuses cover more than 130 acres. The church has developed an 82-acre sports complex, Legacy Park, for community outreach. Sherwood operates a 24/7 cable channel, and “Path to Truth with Michael Catt” currently is seen on 209 stations in the United States and 130 cable systems in India. The services also are available through streaming and podcasts.

BOOKS: Michael’s books include the bestseller, Fireproof Your Life, as well as Prepare for Rain, The Power of Desperation, The Power of Persistence, The Power of Surrender and Courageous Living. Michael’s books with B&H Publishing are under the ReFRESH® Series of books. Fireproof Your Life was the fastest-selling book in the history of CLC Publications. Michael is the co-writer of The Love Dare Bible Study and Courageous curriculum. His books have been published in numerous languages across the world.

CONFERENCES: Committed to investing in pastors and lay leaders looking toward church revival, Michael founded the ReFRESH® Conference (ReFRESHconference.org). Along with Warren Wiersbe, Michael established 2ProphetU (2ProphetU.com) as a resource site for pastors. Michael also regularly contributes to his blog at MichaelCatt.com.

SHERWOOD PICTURES: Michael serves as Executive Producer for Sherwood Pictures’ films (SherwoodPictures.com), including FIREPROOF, FACING THE GIANTS, FLYWHEEL and COURAGEOUS. FIREPROOF opened at #4 in the nation on September 26, 2008, grossing $33 million theatrically. It became the top indie film of the year. The movies have been translated into 13 languages and been seen around the world and on every continent.

LEADERSHIP & AWARDS: Michael has also served as Executive Producer on several music and video projects. He has received numerous invitations to the White House and to meet with members of Congress. In 2002 he was invited to a meeting in the Oval Office with President George Bush. He has served the Southern Baptist Convention in a variety of roles, most recently in 2008 as president of the Pastors’ Conference. Michael received the Martin Luther King Award, the MLK Unity Award, the Bridge Builders Award for Racial Reconciliation, and a Georgia Senate Resolution recognizing his work in the community and in racial reconciliation.

SPEAKER: Michael has spoken on college and seminary campuses and often speaks to ministries such as LifeAction, Student Leadership University, and The Cove, as well as evangelism and pastors’ conferences.

FAMILY: Michael and his wife Terri have been married since 1974, and they have two grown daughters, Erin and Hayley.
